PE at Christ Church Pellon
At Christ Church Pellon we know the importance of physical education (PE) and are invested in promoting the benefits of PE for our children. PE plays a vital role in our children's overall development, as a school we will provide opportunities to learn transferable skills which children can learn, build on and apply during their time at Christ Church Pellon. PE is vital for promoting a healthy lifestyle and developing physical fitness, which sets the foundation for lifelong wellness.
Implementation
At Christ church Pellon we now implementing a new 2 hour PE lesson which will be teacher led and supported by our sports Co-Ordinator. Our PE scheme 'Get set 4 education' provides a huge range of age expected sporting activities for children that can aid the teaching of PE by providing ideas that are suitable for the age of our children.
The curriculum is cleverly crafted around the facilities and equipment available, providing students with a diverse range of activities. From swimming pools to sports halls, these resources enhance the learning experience and inspire our young athletes. As they engage in various sports, they're not just having fun, they’re also acquiring transferable skills that can be used in many aspects of life. Through the teaching and the curriculum we aim to achieve the aims of the national curriculum by building competence throughout different sports, building a competitive nature that respects the schools ethos and providing the building blocks for children to build their healthy lifestyles.
Out of school activities
Out of school competitions are a fantastic way for children to demonstrate their skills whilst having a lot of fun represent the school. Competitions allow for children to experience sports competitively promoting a brilliant new opportunity for them to practice and apply their skills.
Below are some of our recent reports from taking part in school competitions.

PE Kit
Firstly, remember that your PE kit must be worn during each lesson, as it not only helps you get into the right mindset for physical activity but also keeps you comfortable while were on the move. You'll need to wear a house-coloured T-shirt, which helps us all show team spirit. Pair it with some plain joggers or shorts – just make sure they’re suitable for exercise. The aim is to move freely, so comfort is key!
Make sure that jewellery is removed or covered during PE to maintain safety.
